Citizen Petition for Jeremy's Law

We, the undersigned, are calling on the State Legislature of Michigan to enact legislation to address the crisis of suicide on college campuses, the 2nd leading cause of death for college-age students.  Undiagnosed and untreated depression and other mental health disorders too often lead to tragedy, as in the case of Jeremy Look, a student at Grand Valley State University who succumbed to suicide.  Jeremy reached out for help, but his call was not answered.  We urge the legislature to ensure that new college students and their families are educated about the nature of suicide, its risk factors and warning signs.
